The Tribes of the Hausa

Sixteen survey plates in the Zayyana design language. Hausaland — a civilization of walled cities bound by one language: the seven true states of the Bayajidda legend, the Hausa Banza kingdoms, the Maguzawa keepers of the old ways, and trans-border Hausaland from Zinder to the Ader plateau. Each tee carries a city-survey plate on the front and Plate 0, the Bayajidda map, on the back: the well of Kusugu and the seven roads to the seven walled cities.
