History

Ikot Omin — Ikpai-Omin among the fourteen — kept the farm country on Calabar's northern reach, where the Qua world runs back into the forest that raised it. Its people worked the inland paths: yam, cassava and palm moving down the trails to the town markets, the clan's wealth walked out of the bush one headload at a time. Under its Ntoe and Mgbe lodge, Ikot Omin remains one of the Qua nation's landholding pillars as Calabar expands northward over its old farm roads.
