The Tribes of the Fulani

Leńol Fulɓe — sixteen clans of the Nigerian Fulɓe, from the scholar houses that raised the Sokoto Caliphate to the herders who still walk the burtol. Each plate is a survey-style record: the clan's emblem, its seat, and its place on the road from the Sahel to the savanna. The collection mark is the lyre-horned zebu — the animal by which the Fulɓe measure wealth, patience, and the code of pulaaku.
